Art in architecture and public buildings
As a wellknown artist Jacques Gassmann since 1993 has been asked
by architectural boards of works and by industrial corporations to
develop and carry out artistic designs for public buildings.
Commissioned works, murals in public buildings and altar pieces and
colour designs of organs in sanctuaries which have been produced since
1993 display the unique style of painting of the artist.
The most striking works are the mural in the Catholic church in
Baunach/Bamberg (2001) which represents the Easter mystery (8,5 x 12,5 m) and
the three floors high painting "Patagonia" (1998) in the First/Kahn Zentrale in
Braunschweig (9 x 3 m).
These works in the architectural area form a representative chapter in
the aesthetical context of the over-all work of the artist.
